We left the house party (complete with smoke machine and bouncing castle, or "jumping castle" as they're called here) to see in the New Year at Kangaroo Point. The fireworks over the river were quite impressive, but nothing compared to Sydney I here.

It was only the next day we realised there were police in the background.
