Different

The Parisians are happy to be able to live in the city a bit more light-heartedly again since the lockdown rules have been relaxed. Compared to Switzerland, however, the rules are much stricter. Masks are compulsory on public transport and in practically all shops.

We were on the move the whole day, on foot and by bike. In a city that is usually packed with tourists and now belongs to the locals.

At the fruit market George told us that at least his business has been doing well in the last months. Because people were eating at home all the time, they had to buy more. His business had suffered with the gilet jaunes before, because it was closed on many weekends due to demonstrations.

In the blip a picture of the Seine. Do you notice what is different than usual? The calm water! No tourists, no tourist boats. Would be perfect for rowing :-)
In fact it is forbidden, except 1 day a year when the Traversée de Paris takes place. We participated some years ago and it was a lifetime experience for us.
