Scottish Korean War Memorial

Went for a small hike today round the hills in West Lothian. The memorial is on the Linlithgow-Beecraigs-Bathgate hill road.

Erected in memory to those who were killed in the Korean War 1950-53. There was a small traditional Korean style wooden pagoda behind the trees here, but it's been removed to be replaced by a new one in the near future I think.
It is surrounded by 110 Korean pine trees, one for every 10 Britons who died in the conflict and 1090 Birch trees, one for each of the fallen.More than 200 Scots were killed.

This will be my WBC entry for DUTY this week, as these good, honest men lost their lives doing their duty to their country. It didn't matter that this was a really a Cold War fight that avoided the superpowers going head to head for real. Trueman, Stalin, Mao testing the domino theory.

Good thing that sort of stuff doesn't happen today!?
