Patterns of life

Iridescence

It's almost felt like a normal Saturday.  We decided that our walk would be to the garden centre as we needed just a few more bedding plants for a container which has remained empty despite my best efforts.   We missed the lovely coffee shop (with amazing cakes) which would normally have been our treat before the walk home again.  Ah well!

Instead it was a walk back for a coffee in the garden and then home-made quiche for lunch.

As I missed the lily pads on the canal, and all the ducks and swans because I'd decided not to take the camera, it was another wander around the garden for a suitable blip.

The delphinium flowers are amazing - such an intensity of colour and when you look closely there are darker iridescent strips on each petal.
Now ...time for wine.
