The old village well

This well was used by certain privileged families in the village (our previous owners being one of them) and it's not used any more although we have painted it to keep it looking good. There's still water in the well but not worth using since mains water came about 50 years ago). However one big weed has grown up round the mechanism and so I took a photo of it before doing a bit of weeding later on.
