Facade

This is a sculpture made by NZ artist John Radford in 1991. It is a model of part of a building that stood in the Auckland CBD from the mid 1880s until 1986. It originally housed the New Zealand Mines Trust. The 1980s were a time of pull everything down and build some huge office towers. Much of Auckland's history was demolished in those days. When John made this the site was empty and even now it is still a car park for one of NZ's tallest buildings. Many thanks for the stars, hearts and comments on yesterday's Moon. Nothing visible this morning or all day really as the rain returned for most of it.
