Common spotted orchid

We went for a walk with our friends G&P today.

We have lived here for 40 years but when challenged to choose a walk from home for today I managed to find one that none of us had walked before.  It was a real surprise and the variety of countryside was lovely.

A part of it that we had walked previously is Bannam's Wood that is an SSSI although we haven't been there for a long time.  We  have never walked there from home before.

It was lovely and we were pleased to see these Orchids.

We are hoping to introduce some orchids into the wild area we are creating in our garden.  Watch this space!
