The nation thanked all the workers who have kept working throughout the pandemic. President Higgins asked Ireland to sing and play Beethovens ‘Ode to joy’ at 18.00 (reworded and not in German). We all had to socially distance on our floor markers and over 100 villagers turned out so we were spread out a long way. Good craic and my uke twanging was well drowned out thankfully. Thankfully the weather was fantastic for the performance and the resting the eve as the 12.00 rehearsal had to be abandoned due to driving rain and wind !
Inevitably the music continued and people were enjoying seeing each other, some for the first time since March.
Mike gave an impromptu wall climbing lesson to some of our friends lads, much to the delight of their dads and horror of the grannies.
Supper with Liz and a long evening walk to CJ woods with the sunset for company.
Happy Fathers Day to my wonderful dad stuck at home , super vulnerable but staying positive. Miss you so very much and wish I could see you, hug you, have a pint with you x
