First green bean of the season

The pandemic has allowed me to micro manage the garden (and get a taste for retirement!). After being blown to pieces by strong winds and attacked by slugs, the runner beans are coming on well now and we have our first runner bean to enjoy.

I imagine we will be sick of them in a few weeks time!

The one disappointment so far is a black currant plant I’m growing. It’s grown very well and has lots of green foliage but absolutely no berries. Hopefully it’s a late starter, otherwise I think it will need another year to establish perhaps.
