Anne's Daily Encounters

Lonely Planet... Lonely Crete..

That's what came to mind when seeing the empty beaches and roads on Crete today. Surely we enjoyed the quiet today on our drive along the South coast of Crete from Sfakia up to Plakias; but for the people who depend on tourism for their income, this quiet is not as welcome.

Here at the beach of Rodakino I did go for a little swim and after that we had a nice meal at the Arokaria taverna of Mrs. Kleio, who welcomed us as her first guests of this year.

The weather was great, a cool breeze and sunshine and lots of clouds over the mountains, see extra.

And thank you all lots for your reactions upon yesterblip from the mountains on the North side of Crete.
