Last evening we were invited to a musical soirée in the next door lane, courtesy of Lizzie & John. We accepted of course and enjoyed a lovely impromptu evening with John and a few friends taking it in turns to give us a varied mix of musical genres on guitars, a ukulele  and a Dulcimer (very varied and most enjoyable)  but even though we were outside it was very sticky and humid so not a great night for sleeping. Tired this morning but we’ve had rain and the new water butt is 1/4 full, so exciting?!!  This morning was spent with Lizzie drinking coffee in her lovely garden, and the afternoon spent in another friends’ garden, it was 6pm before I got home to find a frenzy in the Sparrow hedge - the perpetrator a juvenile Sparrow Hawk*.  I think I surprised him as he left empty handed/beaked.
