Fly Straight

In the event, it was actually rather cool.

No eulogy, really - no need, those who were there don’t need to be told what a decent chap he was.

No distant uncles telling us how sad it is - we know that bit too.

We sneaked in the occasional hug when we thought it was OK.

Bubbles were respected and then respectfully popped.

There were 7 at the wake afterwards, in the garden. It was too hot for dark jackets.

There was tea from a sanitised teapot and sandwiches delivered in individual boxes.

It was surreal, but in a good way. It will be a day never forgotten.
