"Who cares if it snows?"

Today has been a day of snow, sleet, hail, gales and power cuts! The mail plane didn't come either, so Mike just had the local post to deliver and was home by lunchtime. That was the positive amongst all the negatives!

We are all electric here, so power cuts are quite a challenge. When the power came on I decided to risk putting the bread maker on. Of course it then went off while in the middle of the programme, and then continued to bake a couple of hours later, so we have an interestingly shaped loaf, but it is edible. Actually it is delicious and edible - but then all fresh bread is!

I was hunting for a balaclava hat pattern the other night, and came across this. It's a war time book of wonderful and amazing things to knit. Very taken by this set - I like the idea of laughing at a north east wind - but think knitted woollen underwear must be incredibly uncomfortable! I've included the pattern just in case anyone is tempted! Men's versions are also available, I'd be happy to . . . . no, perhaps not!
