Eagle spotting

On my way home from work I spotted this young White tailed Sea Eagle in a field near home. Not the best of pictures because I don't have a long lens but still exciting as it is not an everyday sight in this part of Argyll. It is eating a hare.

Sea Eagles were released on the Isle of Rhum and now breed on Mull which is not too far from here as the eagle flies. They are doing very well and are now starting to expand their territories into mainland Argyll. They have virtually wiped out hares on Mull.

This is my first real sighting of the Sea Eagles in Mid Argyll. I don't think the farmer will be very pleased to see this young bird around as it approaches lambing time!
