Gifts of Grace

By grace

Barter

I was touched today to be offered this sourdough loaf when I asked a neighbour if he'd like one of the triffid red cabbages shown in the extra.  That pic was taken a couple of weeks ago, they're maybe five times that size now.

Our garden runs alongside the car park for a neighbouring block of flats.  This has turned out to be a boon in disposing of giant edibles I want to move on.  Five down, one to go.  Only today did it spontaneously turn into an exchange.

I'd never met the guy before and am liking this more cohesive feeling these small gestures are bringing.  Delicious bread and more space for the seedlings waiting impatiently (I fancy) to get their feet deeper in the earth.
