The Hoedown

Shockingly this was my first trip to Gorgie Farm with the kids. It's a brilliant little haven in the city where the kids can get up close with the usual suspects of cows, sheep, horses, chickens and the like. Despite the rain the kids absolutely loved it and it was a hard job prizing Little D away from the cow barn, many tears were shed.

We then had a quick break at home before heading out to a family party - Martin's 40th birthday. The kids were full of beans and raring to hit the dancefloor immediately on arrival. They danced, they ate, they made their way round the rellies and were generally pretty brilliant. We all had so much fun and it was great seeing everyone again. Miss A was very reluctant to go until the cake was cut so we didn't actually leave the party until 12.30am, by which point both kids crashed out in the car and slept soundly all night.

Perhaps taking them out clubbing on a weekly basis is what I need to be doing to tire them out in future.
