Wet Day

A wet and windy night which has continued all day today.Found an old disused car park this morning which has proved ideal for practising slow speed manoeuvres and emergency braking on the bike,Skills which need to be practiced regularly to keep them up to scratch.May book myself on a bike safe course in the near future just to check that I have fallen into no bad habits.Next month I have been riding on the road for forty years with a few breaks.Over those years I have taken some periodic training and refreshers which is not unusual for bikers.I wonder how many car drivers can say the same.Judging by the appalling standard of car driving probably very few.
A great ride out despite the weather with only one prat overtaking another car just before a corner. The hour of emergency stop and manoeuvre practice paid off along with good road strategy. As expected it was an Audi as it nearly always is.Still at least we know to look out for them.

In the picture is St Mary the Virgin Church Eccleston Lancashire.Dating from 1182 there has been a church on the site since 1094.
