Mangetout and snaps

Purple Mangetout and Snap peas.  We have eaten a few of these in salads raw and as dippy things in hummous but this is the first proper picking of them... I blanched them quickly (see extra) and to my surprise the purple pods remained purple.. I thought l had read they didn't keep their colour.  However, as you will see if you check the extra the water went the most amazing colour of turquoise!! I have never seen anything so incredible!!  We had these alongside a rather tasty fish curry with home grown spinach.. it gave me such a good feeling to be eating our own vegetables.. wonderful.  It has been rediculously windy today but we had no rain like some others had today.
