Sister love

Yesterday - puppy love; today - sister love! Thanks for stars, hearts and comments on my latest blips. I'm looking forward to catching up with other journals.
Another fun day with family. So happy. After breakfast, we took Bruce to Hamilton Beach to experience sand for the first time. He loved it, had a great time digging and sniffing and running around. A quick trip to Drummond Park to get the sand off his face (much more sniffing in the grass among the daisies - last extra) then home for lunch. Kalyn and Marky had asked us to come to their campsite for supper. What a treat, not a camping meal like we used to have when hiking in the Rockies! No dehydrated meals for them - they made us prawn and chicken skewers with peppers and onions and mushroom rice. We brought a salad. All delicious! We played a game of mini cornhole which involves throwing beanbags into a hole in a slanted board - a very mini version and we had a good laugh because the campsite next to them had a huge version! Kalyn picked Gramps for her team, thinking that she, Marky and him would clean our clocks. It took so long for any of us to get the beanbag in the holes, and when they were up 3-0. We were getting tired of the game, and Renata said, "Next one in wins." The other team protested and Kalyn said, "One shot can't be for all the marbles!" But then they agreed...and one shot won it all! Krista got it in! Ha! The only one our team got in all game! She'd come close several times and came through when it counted. I think Kalyn nailed it when she told me a few years ago that I "used to be an athlete" - I was hopeless! But then, no one else was much better.  :-)
There aren't any fire pits at the individual campsites, just communal ones, so when the closest communal one had space for us to sit with social distancing from other campers there, we went to roast marshmallows and made S'mores with chocolate and caramel cookies. A sweet treat for dessert!
Bruce crashed when we got home, tired the poor pup out. He slept on my lap for a couple of hours while we watched a comedy and two Seinfeld episodes (a tradition when the girls visit). Then the adults crashed as well.
Renata and Krista head home tomorrow afternoon.  :-(
