Pond Life?

I spotted this little Moorhen caught up in the Blanketweed and he looked like a goner.  The parents were squawking at him as I approached.  Then all of a sudden he dived under the water and popped up a foot away and paddled off furiously into the long irises.  He must've heard me coming along the path and was playing possum.  Crafty little chick.
