Back in time

For these round-number posts, I sometimes find myself looking backward among older photos. Here I am going back to the “old” world of live performances, in which one could go see an opera, or a dance concert, or chamber music, or a play. This blip is old in another way too: it’s taken in an eighteenth-century gem of a theater (the Drottningholm Palace Theatre, to be exact), where the musicians play on period instruments and all the old theatrical mechanisms are still in use. At the moment I took this, a wonderful production of Handel’s opera “Ariodante” was just about to begin...
