July has arrived

Today was the first of July which somehow feels surprising. The summer time is passing so fast!
Today we needed to collect something from town and thought that the high street looked very festive with the bunting flying. The day was warm even though the sun only popped out occasionally.
It is noticeable that there are few visitors. It is easy to park on the pier and the high street is quiet. Usually at this time there are cruise ships visiting which often bring an extra 4,000 to the island several times each week.
We are trying to buy local but most shops say that getting fresh stock is their problem. There is no shortage of potential shoppers.

Miss Izzy came for tea tonight as Tilly had gone to play with a friend. Miss Izzy has started to write a story on the computer about a Dragon (her favourite topic) she says she would like to own one!
