Mallard feather

I almost forgot to take a shot today!

I've collected a few of these mallard feathers over the last week or two. They're currently moulting so they're everywhere at Trentham gardens. 

It's called eclipse plumage where the male ducks loose their brightly coloured feathers and start to look a bit more like the females. They're also flightless during this time.
