The various agapanthus plants in what was formerly known as the "new bed" and henceforth will be called the "pond bed" (it is no longer the most recently created bed) are all showing considerable promise - lots of buds, but not yet any flowers.  But the red hot poker are doing nicely.

Not the best focussed photo I've taken - the camera decided it was focussing on the background rather than the plants.  But I quite like the effect.

We spent some time this morning planting up yet another newly created bed - at the bottom of the garden.  We've planted some yew at the back, and it will probably eventually have mainly self seeded things like foxglove and evening primrose, but in the first instance, since it is on a slope, we have planted some sedum and some other bits and pieces to try to stabilise the soil.  It's not very photogenic at the moment.  But it's another job ticked off the "garden to do" list.
