Love poem ...

...
for a Lemon Tree
I have never tasted your lemons.
I have watched them from green to yellow.
I caught three boys filling plastic bags
with fruit for ammo
and told them to go away.

The nuns want to make marmalade.
But every year the tree gets stripped.
Airini Beautrais

No nuns or bold boys around here and the lemons are indeed looking good and taste magnificent, very sharp and very fruity. But just look at that bay window! Another hard day of painting, second coat on the bay window, the dark blue applied there and elsewhere, and the other side of the house had its windows rubbed down and some have the white applied. It's all looking very jolly and fresh. The colours, should you be wondering are Firth of Thames (very bright blue, not Filth of Thames as we first read it), Lake Brunner (very dark blue) and Cardrona (the off white which apparently refers to an Alpine area in the South Island. Google and you get seriously distracted by this phenomenon - I'm threatening to start one in Takaka!)

The weather is changing over the weekend and we have Esme to play with, so not much will be happening for a few days - give the old bones a chance to recover.

Happy birthday to my brother :)
