Rodents rule

Looking further afield

Penge has some lovely pieces of street art. I liked this owl and the dog gate in the extra. In the blip, you might see Fred walking his bike.

We cycled to see a friend in Bickley, about an hour and a half cycle from the home – it's the furthest I've been since 22 March. The cycle wasn't too onerous and we passed through lovely Kelsey Park while avoiding Bromley. By the water, there were some really noisy heronries. We also spotted a blue plaque on a house where Harold Bride, wireless operator on the Titanic, lived from 1903 and 1922 – before and after the disaster.

Our friend led us on a walk around the woods near his home. The woods were slightly spoiled by three dirt bikes that roared around, making people dive for dogs and toddlers to get them out of the way in time. Grrr.  Still, we had a nice, quiet picnic in a meadow where we treated Simon to a cake from our local bakery.

Before we cycled home we had a socially distanced cup of tea in the garden. It was fab to touch base and hang out in person.
