The Way I See Things

Oakleaf

Cold. Wet. Windy. Dark. I waited most of the day for a promised lightening of the sky, but it never came, so in the end I had to make the best I could of what there was.

All the flying invertebrates were hunkered down, wisely, and though I thought I might be able to find a bug or a beetle somewhere around, my search had to be called off after a few minutes when rain stopped play again. Luckily, this oak-leaved hydrangea is flowering bravely; it's one of my favourite additions to the garden, and I liked the way its pale cream petals seemed to glow in the gloom.

I hope that normal service will be able to be resumed very soon.
