Glossy

Wading in Worcestershire this adult glossy ibis was probing the mud with his sickle shaped beak for aquatic invertebrates, insects and amphibians. At a distance he just looked like a black spec in the pool but once seen on the computer blown up you realise the many different almost metallic colours to his feathery coat.

Not as rare as you would imagine - they were removed from the rare species list in 2013 but not a bird commonly seen in this area for sure.
