Mute Swan

Out bright and early this morning taking advantage of the fresh snowfall before it all got trampled over and sledged upon. The snow started early last night and was the first time I had witnessed thunder and lightening during a snow storm. Seemed strange for some reason!

Captured plenty landscape snow shots, but decided on this pic of a Mute Swan, currently residing on the Peebles stretch of the River Tweed. The bright orange of its bill was in stark contrast to the dark river and sleet that was falling at the time. Despite the wind, snow and sleet it retained a certain sense of majesty.
