The gloves are off

A wet and soggy National Meadows Day.  Frankly, once June is over I wouldn't mind skipping straight to September - the second half of summer never lives up to the first.
It's always interesting though, once flowering is over, to see how plants move on after fertilization to the next stage of setting  seed and dispersing it. Here are the foxglove's rain specked seed capsules. green and closed now but later on to ripen brown and open like little salt shakers.
