"Muchbig Diggering" !!

Unusual name for a house but that is what is happening at the end of our lane.
Guernsey Housing
Guernsey has two housing markets, one for "locals" and one for "non-locals"
This rule has been in situ for many years and has become very complex and made some unhappy people sometimes!
The site in my blip was a large but very dated modern house, on the Open Market. It was quite rambling with lots of extensions bolted on but, basically it had well passed it's "sell by" date so, it has been demolished and in its place will be constructed a lovely new, very expensive single story home for some lucky person.
The site is quite large and because the old house was Open Market it was for sale at around £1.5m.
Presumably it sold as work is progressing apace to clear the site ready for the new build.
The old property had a lovely big swimming pool and yesterday there was a big digger in the pool, taking down the walls to get rid of it. The new property will have a pool but in a different position.
May keep you posted amid other more interesting blips as time goes by.
Please note, our end of the lane is "normal" houses!
