La Chole Still-life

A group from our complex went to visit the ruins near Petetlan. Despite our best efforts at determining if they would be open, we were thwarted by yet another Mexican holiday and found the ruins and museum closed. Plan B was a visit to the small town of La Chole, a short jaunt down a dirt road from the new museum. What a photographic cornucopia! We spent a great deal of time in Patzcuaro the past year visiting small towns, but few compared to the rustic charm of this small, dirt-streeted village. There were so many photos that it was almost impossible to pick just one for today's post, so I am cheating and placing another 15 here, but selected this as the representative image from this wonderful excursion. As my daughter would say, everything happens for a reason and I have to believe the museum was closed just so I could discover the little town of La Chole.
