Alone on the Bridge

One of the many footbridges over the River Gilpin.  From the legendary Richard de Gilpin who killed a ferocious wild boar that had its lair near here and was preying on pilgrims visiting the chapel at Belle Isle on Windermere. I've probably mentioned this before. Although the boar was slain in 1306 there are many references to wild boars and Gilpins in this area.
After posting the colour version I realised this would fit the mono challenge "alone" today. Thanks 60plus,  and put the colour version in extras

Day 108
Leicester , Ashford and Barrow, 1, 2 and 3 in the coronavirus cases per head table. Only 16 deaths yesterday.
Ambleside vet and ultra marathon runner Sabrina Verjee set off from Keswick this morning at 03:00 with the aim of running all 214 Wainwrights peaks in one go. Hoping to  beat the record set last year (6 days and 6 hours) and being the first woman to complete the circuit.  Mr P took a year to do them, obviously with rests in between. I thought that was good going. Because of the coronavirus, Sabrina has asked for no spectators cheering her on, on the way or at the finish.  That's a shame,  I would have thought that clapping cheering people would help even if they had to be at a distance,
