THE ROYAL

Back into Scarborough today. This wonderful Victorian building was used from 2003-2011 as the setting for a Yorkshire Television programme.

A TV hospital series, set in the 1960's, was named 'The Royal' and followed on from another TV series set in North Yorkshire called 'Heartbeat'.

The building is meant to be St Aidan's Royal Free Hospital - one of the locations in books written by Nicholas Rhea.

A nice regional argument is building up in the UK. Cricket lovers will associate English Cricket with 'Taking Tea'. Well Yorkshire Tea has been awarded the contract to provide tea to the English Cricket Board, much to the annoyance of the rival County of Lancashire. One Lancastrian is quoted as reporting that the sales of coffee will increase ! Hehe . . . bad losers again !
