On the river nene (pronounced "neen or nen" depending upon where you are on the river) there are always swans at this point. This is largely due to one man who worked in a local mill and fed the swans for many years every lunchtime. Now children are brought by their parents every day to feed the ducks and swans along this embankment. The birds are always willing to show off their beauty in return for a scrap of bread. Too many crumbs and they can be quite viscious to each other. Why are the most beautiful animals usually so viscious I wonder.
