THE GIBSON A4 MANDOLIN

Had the privilege of working on this wee gem made in 1915 back when Gibson made wonderful instruments.

This shows the back of the headstock - these tuners are fairly bog-standard nickel-silver jobs, but take a close look at the knobs - they're encrusted with five abalone dots on each side & beautifully hand-engraved!

Can't show you the face of this instrument because it's clamped down on the workbench to re-glue the back which had been "repaired" badly by an enthusiastic amateur.
