Royal Mail + Aus Post get the job done

We had almost forgotten about this DVD. We ordered it from an Australian supplier on 16 April this year. We were well and truly in the thick of lockdown. Naïvely we thought it might arrive in time for us to watch on Anzac Day (25 April). We know little of the role of the Canadian forces in World War II and we were interested to learn more.

After placing the order it became apparent that the DVD would have to come from the UK. I can remember thinking at the time that it may never arrive. Nevertheless, this morning when I went to check our mail there it was, nearly 3 months later than we initially expected. Actually, I am impressed with the Royal Mail and Australia Post that they are managing to deliver mail from one side of the world to the other given all the limitations and restrictions we are living with on both sides of the world.

Tonight we will sit down and educate ourselves a little. It will be far from a cheerful experience but it will serve to remind us, in comparison to our forebears who lived through World War II, that we are doing it easy.
