Slegghaugen at Røros

My mother and I drove to Røros today and Julian came by train. He hasn't been here for about 12 years, I think, so he is angious to see the town with grown up eyes and also keen to see some places which he remembers some mysterial from his childhood.
We had planned three days together here, but SAS cancelled Julian and Adrians flight for Tromsø at sunday, so Julian and I have to go to Trondheim today and I will return to Røros at friday. The car it full of Adrians things, after he returned so suddenly from USA in march.
Slag is a by-product of copper smelting. Slegghaugan stand as large mountains that are a testament to the huge amount of activity that has taken place over 333 years. Today it is a protected area under the Culture Heritage Act.
If you climb to the top of Slegghaugan, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Mining-Town. Very close to Slegghaugan is Sleggveien, also referred to as "Pippi Street". An episode of Pippi Long Stocking was filmed here.
