A Fine Day

A typical summer’s day in Saint Céré. I sat reading a research book in the shade of a plane tree while waiting for my car to be serviced. People I knew kept stopping to speak to me - the first time I have seen so many people in months. When finally I collected my car they said it was like a brand new vehicle. Only 3500 kilomètres on the clock and virtually no wear on the brakes. Not surprising, I suppose, since there was no trip to Spain, or anywhere else, this year, and the last four months have been spent confined to quarters. I filled the tank mid-March, and it’s still showing nearly full!
