Went to have a look at how busy the beach is - the answer is not very. In Old Normal times it would be heaving now, and gearing up to be ultra-heaving in August. Not many tourists have come yet, although once the Sleasyjet and other budget airlines start serving the island in the next few days, disgorging a glut of Brits who will be despoiling the beach and socially non-distancing in the bars, many of which, along with tourist shops and supermarkets, are yet to open fully. It has now become law to wear a mask at all times when outdoors, not just when in shops or crowds. It will be interesting to see how well that is followed. The 1000 euro fines for non-compliance should swell the municipal coffers nicely.
