Crossed...

I got to take Bethany and girl next door up to Rainbows tonight. It's a great wee walk with them just being mental and 6 year old school friends.

They seem to have arrived at the Timeout version of Den when playing tig. Den used to be the preferred safe haven invoked when playing tig so that you can't be tigged. They've now embraced the americanised TimeOut, even going as far as doing the standard TimeOut signal.

I gave them a third alternative from when I was a kid. Keys Up and Baggsy no Butcher. Keys up is when you stick your thumbs up and are granted immunity from tigging. Bagsy no Butcher, if I'm remembering this right, means that you can't tig the person who tigged you. You butcher being the person that tigged you. It's a rule of tig to avoid the stalemate of two people just standing in the playground tigging each other back and forward.

Not sure if my remembered rules of tig will manage to usurp the TimeOuts they've adopted.
