Nanny May's Bottom Drawer

These embroidered cloths were made by my two eldest children's grandmother. Some also had pulled thread work which she showed me how to do, so that I could start filling my 'bottom drawer' after becoming engaged to her son. These must be very old as she passed away many years ago aged 100. My eldest son came across them and daughter No.1 will wash and freshen them up to be used by another generation. I didn't have a 'bottom drawer' and I don't recall any of my friends having one either.
