my brother came for lunch - i pushed the boat out - and was so pleased i did because he said it was the first red meat he'd eaten since lockdown.

fillet tails marinaded overnight in thyme, rosemary, smoked garlic, and olive oil with minted & buttered tiny new potatoes & asparagus.
pud - peaches with clotted cream and Demerara sugar - a nostalgic family fave.

as we were sitting out an old school friend of my brother's hailed us from the footpath, and they came for tea.  it was a lovely afternoon.
