Timely Advice

For a variety of reasons, everyone was feeling a bit the worse for wear when we finally arrived at Cafe Frida in the Arts District this morning, This sign post next to where we parked seemed most appropriate. The cafe and the signpost are part of the Arts District in Santa Rosa.

The governor has put Sonoma County on a watchlist today. Three days of discussion will take place over the weekend on how to curb spiking cases since indoor dining and the opening of bars was permitted. It seems a no-brainer that restrictions on those  will be reinstated. Weeks of protests of police brutality and the killing of George Floyd have been happening at the same time, but nobody is mentioning that as a contributing factor. 

Ironically, the county is considering  'enhanced enforcement'  of local health orders such as 'working with law enforcement partners to issue citations'. So much for defunding the police....Perhaps a hefty fine for not wearing a mask will help, but I doubt it. Not when everybody knows that being forced to wear a mask is an attack on our constitutional rights....

The thermometer on our porch says 98ºF,  and John went out early  to plant some new plants we got at Cottage Garden on Monday. This is no easy feat as it takes an hour just to dig a hole in the ground.

I have been trying to eke out enough fabric to make a backing for Stephanie's quilt without having to go to the store, but I'm beginning to decided that it would be better to buy plenty of fabric and do it right. In fact, Kathy said she's go get it. I invited them for happy hour tomorrow and Kathy said that's pick up Ceviche and guacamole and chips. Now that is my kind of guest!
