Everyday I Write The Book

Chantry Wood

I will remember this as a butterfly summer. Maybe lockdown was good for Lepidoptera; they were everywhere today as we stomped through the woods and meadows around Guildford. I forgot to take my sticks but found a more than adequate branch that had fallen from a tree and was just the right size, although a little on the heavy side. Just as well I had it, there were some goodish hills and paths just made to stumble on. Couldn’t quite manage the whole thing but did 5k, even the shortcut at the end was lovely.  We’ll do it again before summer is out and book a table at The Seahorse in Shalford which is two thirds of the way around.

Good to have Mr Blue Sky back.

Danced in the kitchen to Something Got Me Started by Simply Red as TSM made healthy and delicious tofu and mushroom noodles. I made a blueberry muffin cake full of sugar and stuff.

Watched "The Farewell" with Awkwafina. Very, very good film. Really draws you in. And very funny in places. Watch it, free on Amazon Prime at the mo.

Now reading 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari. You need to be resilient for a book like this, it’s pretty scary ...
