Festival time

In all our family quizzes durIng lockdown, Rebecca kept asking if we could get together for a BBQ/party once we were allowed to and today was pencilled in as a possibility. This was then turned into a festival themed do. So last weekend I ordered some bunting, coloured lights, blow up flamingos and beach balls to add to the ambience.

They all arrived about 3.30 bringing their share of salads and Sim’s Natalie made an amazing cake, a lemon cake inside was delicious. Then it was straight into having glitter on our faces (mine lasted all of 5 minutes as I kept forgetting and touching it :-D). Games of hand ball with the beach balls and boules before our bbq. Then a game similar to Chinese whispers but with actions. We all stood in a line, behind each other and it would start with the person at the back tapping on the shoulder of the person in front, showing them a series of actions that was passed on down the line and seeing if the actions stayed the same by the time you got to the front. I’m not sure it ever did. A few more games into the evening followed by sparklers and a little bit of a dance before they went home (Josh & Natalie stayed).

Although only 9 of us, it was just so wonderful to all be together and the weather stayed dry so staying outside was not a problem.

So many photos I could use for my blip that there are a few collages. This is a solar light lantern that B bought me as an end of year gift.
