Poppies & Hedgehog update

The poppies in the wildflower garden are so beautiful and the borage replenishes it's nectar every two minutes (apparently) making it a big hit with the bees.
Last night we had a big event, the release of Sonica back into our garden. Exactly a month since she was dropped off, she has put on weight, been on antibiotics, had all the ticks removed and rehabilitated nicely at the Wildlife Centre. We put out some hedgehog food and a saucer of water and waited for her to emerge from the box at dusk. It became clear that she wasn't going to do anything while we sat there so we went into the house and watched from the window. As darkness fell she stuck her little nose out and sniffed the air and then tentatively emerged from the box, pausing to sniff the food and then positively dashing into the flower bed and behind the hedge.
That is probably the last we will see of her but we intend to go into the garden this evening to see if we can hear her rustling around. She didn't eat the food so we will put some more out tonight and if that is uneaten we will just leave her to her foraging.
