Tree varieties

Campaigner have chalked on the pavement, the names of the variety of trees bordering Ryebank Fields in Chorlton, Manchester, a site they want to save from developers. They hope it will draw attention to the diversity of flora and fauna in the fields, which have been left wild for decades. The entrances to the fields have been fenced off, for months now,  to allow for surveys and to assess any asbestos threat, as some was found underground. It’s a long covered over landfill site.
I really hope they succeed, as prior to it being closed off this year, it was the source of 50 percent of my photos. The insect diversity was amazing.
And the asbestos if left underground and left undisturbed isn’t a threat.
