Older son doctored the original photo we sent him - made a tense occasion a bit more light hearted. He’s always made us laugh. Annual screening appointment at a Specialist Unit in Edinburgh. The radiologist said they’d been open throughout the pandemic. And in this case the appointment was brought forward a week and at a venue 2 miles nearer home. Free on site parking too. Yet another contradiction of the daily rubbish in the media. Obviously different system of work from previously (including face coverings); but that’s ok. Thankyou NHS Scotland. Again.

Afterwards we went for a walk in the recently reopened and regenerated Saughton Park. I’d seen it on the Beechgrove Garden TV programme during development. Researched it last night. Such lovely gardens. Big beds and excellent examples of big versions of plants. A bandstand, and a Winter Garden/Conservatory (covid19 closed). Was in a covid19 safe public toilet too - really well done. A guy counting you in, hand sanitizer on way in/out etc. Spotless. There was an outdoor takeaway and prebooked eating area; not for us yet. We enjoyed the visit.

Listened to bit of First Minister’s briefing before BBC Radio Scotland cut it off (again). 3 new cases - yes 3. And zero deaths for 6 days. Also advised only 2 confirmed ICU cases in whole of Scotland, (others are query etc). No police fines for face covering non compliance. England looks like introducing same now. Another large part of Lockdown Phase 3 easing plan is tomorrow. I suspect like elsewhere we’ll see a bit of an increase. But good result today.

Did just a wee bit of gardening later. And emptied car before service tomorrow.

Caught up with family later. We’d all had a successful and busy day.
