Kintbury on the Kennet & Avon Canal

A trip out today to Kintbury between Hungerford and Newbury for lunch at the Dundas Arms and a walk along the canal.  It is a wonderful collection of a river (the Kennet), the canal and the railway line - as well as a road!

Before lunch outside at the Dundas Arms we walked along the towpath, with a number of sights at extra blips:

The River Kennet on the other side of the topath, crystal clear
A thrush beating a snail on a stone
A very ingenious chair by the side of a canal longboat, using a shirt to replace the back of the chair
A bridge across the canal
The river and canal in close proximity on either side of the towpath

We haven't been here for ages - we used to come a stay for a night at the pub - so a resolution is to return again in the autumn for more walking and pub food!
